The Whisky Agency (TWA) is a German bottler founded by Ehrlich and Schneider. Carsten Ehrlich is also one of the driving forces behind The Whisky Fair, one of the most renowned whisky festivals in the world, which takes place every year in the German province of Limburg. It goes without saying that for years the two founders were working intensively with whisky before they decided themselves to start selecting and bottling. Basically bottling everything they like to drink themselves, regardless of region, distillery, age, cask or whatever. The whisky is not chillfiltered nor coloured. TWA bottles under his own name and under the labels of The Perfect Dram, Liquid Library, Liquid Sun, and Private Stock.
Glenturret claims to be the oldest distillery in Scotland, being founded in 1775 by the Drummond family under the name The Hosh, although proof exists that illegal operations already took place as early as 1717. It took until 1875 until she was renamed Glenturret. She closed during First World War and again during Prohibition and was only reopened by James Fairlie in 1957. Since 1990 it is the property of Highland Distillers PLC, who created the BAFTA-award winning ‘The Famous Grouse Experience’. They have only one spirit still and one wash still, which limits the production to 340.000 litres per annum. And while there is an official release of Glenturret, the distillery is best known for their range of blends of The Famous Grouse. The visitor center receives the most people of all distilleries in Scotland.
